Playing trumpet with braces?

I just got braces and the thing is, im first trumpet in band and i was wondering how the heck im going to do this.... What are some things i can put over my braces so they wont cut me besides wax? Wax isn't quite doing its job... Does any body have any advice for me with playing my trumpet with braces?
